ON THIS DAY in 1767, the Mason-Dixon Line was completed. Mason went back to Philadelphia where the Proprietor was waiting to congratulate him on a job well done; but Dixon, having laid the last stone, found himself stuck on the Maryland side and unable to return without a passport.
